The Global Energy Leaders’ Summit

The Global Energy Leaders’ Summit is an invitation-only gathering of the people shaping the future of energy infrastructure. Prominent utility CEOs, grid operators, hyperscalers, policymakers, regulators, institutional investors and energy buyers meet for two days of candid, peer-to-peer discussion. The Summit is designed to provide a neutral, transparent, and non-partisan platform for meaningful public-private dialogue and the two-way exchange of knowledge and perspectives among senior industry leaders, investors, and policymakers. There is no exhibition hall and there are no booths.

The event takes place on 10 and 11 September 2026 at the Colonna Resort in Porto Cervo, Sardinia.

One question runs through the whole program: how do we power load growth while holding on to reliability, affordability and speed to power? Discussion covers the infrastructure, policy, technology and investment decisions needed to expand capacity, integrate long-duration storage and strengthen system reliability at pace.

However, if your significant other would like to attend the official conference program on September 10 and 11, please contact the Event Management team through events@energydome.com to ensure seat availability.

The Global Energy Leaders’ Summit is a full-day leadership conference held at the Colonna Resort on Thursday, September 10. The Summit program is built around eight main-stage panel sessions and a closing keynote, with structured networking breaks between them, followed by the Leadership Dinner that evening. The program is designed to foster substantive discussion, and prioritizes meaningful peer exchange and networking.

On Friday 11 September, participants are invited to visit Energy Dome’s CO2 Battery plant at Ottana. The plant tour is optional and available for all participants.

Sessions will be recorded, but not livestreamed.

Yes. The Summit arranges accommodation at the Colonna Resort for all participants and covers the cost for the duration of the event. The night of 10 September is guaranteed and covered for every confirmed guest.

No. All bookings are handled exclusively by our team through events@energydome.com.

Please do not contact the hotel directly and do not make your own reservation, as this creates duplicate bookings and can result in your allocated room being released.

Your room is reserved for you by our team. You will receive a written confirmation of your booking from events@energydome.com ahead of the summit. If you have not received it, please write to us and we will resend it.

Additional nights are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. A corporate rate of $250 per night has been secured for you from 2026.09.09 (check-in) to 2026.09.16 (check-out), subject to availability. We will reserve the rooms for you, should you wish to stay longer.

Early September is still peak season on the Costa Smeralda and rooms are limited, so please contact events@energydome.com as early as possible and do not finalize flights around an extended stay until it is confirmed in writing.

To keep things simple at the hotel, the Summit books and pays for all rooms in advance, including any additional nights. After the event, we’ll request reimbursement to our guests individually for the nights that fall outside what we cover.

This means you have nothing to settle at check-out beyond your own incidentals, which the hotel charges you for directly. Everything else is handled by our team, and all arrangements and reimbursement requests go through events@energydome.com.

Minibar, spa treatments, laundry, room service and any other personal charges are settled by you with the hotel.

We ask the hotel to keep guests in the same room throughout wherever possible, though at peak season this cannot be guaranteed. If a change is unavoidable, the hotel team will handle it and move your luggage for you.

Check-in is from 3 pm, and check-out is by 10 am. If you arrive early or depart late, reception will store your luggage at no charge so you can join the program without waiting for a room.

Contact events@energydome.com and we will issue written confirmation of your reservation, including dates, room type and what is covered by the Summit, suitable for submission to your finance or travel team.

Olbia Costa Smeralda “Prince Aga Khan IV” Airport (OLB) is the closest and by far the most convenient. Alghero (AHO) and Cagliari (CAG) are alternatives, but both are well over two hours away by road and are NOT recommended.

Around 30 km, which is typically a 35-40 minute drive.

Unless agreed otherwise, the best option is a private transfer booked and paid for directly by you in advance, and we recommend it for most guests. It is the quickest and most reliable way to reach Porto Cervo, and it works whatever time your flight lands in or takes off from Olbia.

For those who prefer not to arrange one, the Summit will pay for and provide a shuttle bus from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (OLB) to the Colonna Resort on September 9 (one ride only), leaving the airport at 7 pm. On September 10 (one ride only), the shuttle bus will leave the airport at 11 am.

NB: The shuttle serves Olbia only and does not operate from Alghero or Cagliari.

On September 11, for those who need to return to the airport in the afternoon after the morning site visit, the Summit will also arrange a dedicated shuttle bus from the CO2 Battery Ottana plant to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (OLB), with no need to go back to the Colonna Resort. Estimated arrival at Olbia on September 11 is approximately 2 pm.

Book in advance rather than on arrival. Uber does not operate continuously in Costa Smeralda, especially in September, and while there is a reliable taxi service and rank at Olbia Airport (+39 0789 69150), we recommend pre-booking a private transfer.

Yes, there’s a parking lot available to the guests of the resort.

Yes. Italy is a Schengen member state, and participants travelling from outside the Schengen Area should check requirements early. To request a letter of invitation, contact events@energydome.com.

Business casual. Jackets and ties are welcome but not required. September in Sardinia is warm, so linen and lightweight fabrics are more comfortable than wool.

Business casual. The Leadership Dinner on September 10 is outdoor and poolside, and evenings on the coast cool to around 20-25°C / 68-77°F.

The Summit provides all meals and refreshments on September 10 and the site visit on September 11.

Use the dietary field on your RSVP form, so the venue can plan properly. If anything changes, email events@energydome.com. Please be specific about severe allergies, and we will instruct the kitchen directly.

Halal catering is available as a matter of course for all delegates, and vegetarian, vegan and other requirements are accommodated. If you have any additional questions, please email events@energydome.com.

On September 11, participants who stay on are invited to visit Energy Dome’s 20MW/200MWh CO2 Battery plant at Ottana in central Sardinia.

The plant visit is optional but forms the second day of the program. The visit takes place on Friday 11 September, with coaches departing the Colonna Resort early in the morning and returning in the early afternoon. Transportation will be provided for all participants.

Transportation will be arranged by the Summit and there is nothing for you to book. Coaches depart from the Colonna Resort early on the morning of Friday, September 11, and return to the resort in the early afternoon and/or go straight to Olbia airport (OLB) for those who need to catch a return flight in the mid- or late-afternoon on the same day.

Ottana sits in central Sardinia, roughly two hours by road from Porto Cervo. If you are joining the plant tour, you will need to depart Sardinia on Friday mid-afternoon or in the evening at the earliest, or on Saturday, September 12.

Flat, closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Sandals, heels, and open footwear of any kind are not permitted. Long and comfortable clothing is highly recommended. You may be asked to wear personal protective equipment while on site.
